Drinks and shots typically come on in 15 to 30 minutes; gummies and pouches usually take 30 to 60 minutes because they go through digestion. Most people feel the peak for one to two hours and a gentler tail after that.

How much should I take the first time?

One serving. Wait a full hour before deciding whether you want more. Tolerance and body weight change the experience more than people expect, and the most common mistake is stacking a second serving before the first has landed.

For most healthy adults at label servings, kanna has a long traditional use record and a mild side-effect profile — the usual reports are dry mouth or a bit of stomach upset if taken on an empty stomach. It is not for you if you're pregnant or nursing, under 21, or taking SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs or other antidepressants, because kanna affects serotonin reuptake. Talk to your doctor first. We don't recommend it. These products exist so you don't have to. Combining depressant effects — kava especially — with alcohol adds risk without adding anything good.

Kanna is not a federally controlled substance in the United States and is sold as a botanical supplement. State and local rules can differ and do change, so we keep availability current at checkout and won't ship where we can't.
